Another excellent Wonderfalls ...
This is a surprisingly good week for TV. This week's South Park was supremely awesomely funny. The spot on satire of bad Japanese anime serials like DragonBall Z coupled with a fair liberal dose of jabs at recent public events like the controversy about anti-semitism in Mel Gibson's "The Passion of The Christ" as well as Janet Jackson's "Wardrobe Malfunction"/indecency backlash made it a pretty timeless episode. Hope it's remembered come Emmy time.
But yeah, I love, love, love Wonderfalls. Pisses me off that it'll no doubt end up cancelled, hence why I'm taping every episode. Sucks cuz a show like this would thrive on HBO or Showtime or even Comedy Central, like a more cerebral version of Strangers with Candy. This week's episode with Jaye's wannabe copy cat clone was inspired writing. The metaphor drawn between Jaye and her trailer in terms of suspended potential was just beautiful. The show is so fucking good. The fact that it'll die in this timeslot just fucking kills me. Damn fucking Fox.
Ah well ... Wizardworld is tomorrow. Hopefully that'll be not entirely lame. We'll see.
Still a solitary misanthrope
